Thousands of years ago, a cataclysm destroyed civilization as we know it today. Humanity has had to adapt to this new post-apocalyptic era by developing a new way of life. Now, the threat is constituted by the big mobile cities which besiege without pity the minor populations. The enigmatic Hester Shaw is the only one able to prevent the city of London, transformed into a giant mobile predator, to devour everything in its path. Indomitable and motivated by the memory of her mother, the young woman joins Tom Natsworthy, a citizen of a lower level of the big mobile city of London, exiled from the metropolis, and Anna Fang, a dangerous criminal threatened by the bounty hunters.
