Welcome to Marwen talks about an adult man playing with toys. That’s what Mark Hogancamp seems to be doing, anyway. His house in Kingston, NY, is full of dolls, action figures and props in an imaginary Belgian village named Marwen. In Mark’s fantasy world, which often hinders digital life on screen, his GI screen A Joe alter ego, a hard plastic American soldier, known as Hogie, fights against the Nazis, aided by a group of rotating women having a Barbie doll physique.
